GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER

Your first writing assignment is very easy. All you have to do is complete the sentences with information about yourself. For each sentence mention THREE things.

Here are the sentences:

1. _____________ are some of my abilities.
2. Places I have never been to in Puerto Rico include ___________. (Specify where each place is located.)
3. Three of my favorite singers are ___________.
4. I don't know how to ___________.
5. Things that make me mad are ______________.

Example:
1. Dancing salsa, translating, and driving stick shift are some of my abilities.

2. Places I have never been to in Puerto Rico include Vaca Brava in Barranquitas, the Gran Melia Hotel in Rio Grande, nor inside the lighthouse of Cabo Rojo.

3. Three of my favorite singers are Marc Anthony, Ednita Nazario, and Michael Jackson.

4. I don't know how to ice skate, cut hair, or ride a motorcycle.

5. Things that make me mad are people who cut in line, abuse of any kind, and reckless drivers.

Task: Now that you've learned something about me, it's your turn. Be creative. Be specific. Complete the sentences AND make at least one comment about the sentences I wrote about myself.

WELCOME TO BLOGGING!

Hi! Welcome to English 1101. As part of the English class, we will be working on blogs. The blogs will provide you with an opportunity to practice your English outside the classroom. Throughout the semester you will be required to comment on my blog entries.

Points will be given for your effort. No points will be deducted for errors. However, points will be deducted for incomplete work, late entries or work not done by you. Remember, this is just another way to practice English so do the entry by yourself.

At the end of each blog, a due date will be posted. Each blog is worth 10 points. If the entry is late (up to 3 days), you will only get 5 points. Entries posted later than 3 days will NOT be counted.
